MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – Longtime government analyst Burt Hall delivers a tough account of what went wrong in U.S. politics and system of government over the past two decades, and what can be done about it, in his new book “The Right-Wing Threat to Democracy: The Undoing of America's Exceptionalism” (published by iUniverse).
“A power-obsessed right wing of the Republican Party has put the nation into a steep decline and basic flaws in our system of politics and government have allowed it to happen. ‘The Right-Wing Threat to Democracy’ lays out clearly what these basic flaws are and how they can be fixed,” Hall says. “If elected officials do not act, the American people have alternatives in our democratic process and should take matters into their own hands.”
In his book, Hall addresses right-wing responsibilities for many of today’s hot-button issues, including a corrupted election financing system, widespread voter suppression, the great divide between wealthy and poor, and a spiraling national debt. Surprising revelations are made about right-wing national security breaches that allowed September 11, 2001 attacks to take place and its reckless response of two unnecessary wars.
Hall intends to split a portion of his royalties with the Wounded Warrior Project and Clinton Foundation.
