Wellness professionals can benefit from a professional Qigong retreat from The Chi Center in two ways. First, Qigong Master Mingtong Gu will teach the steps to form a personal Qigong practice. This personal Qigong practice helps the wellness professional stay energized, enthusiastic and healthy during the whole workday. Qigong requires no special clothing or facilities, so it can be done easily in the morning, in between patients or at the end of the day. Second, Master Gu will teach the wellness professional the Qigong steps to earn Level 1 Certification, to begin to offer Qigong in their own practice. The western audience is becoming increasingly aware of the success of Qigong in helping all ages with stress and injury, and diseases like Parkinson’s and cancer, and as this demand grows, the wellness professional can already have it in their treatment toolkit. In 2007 an estimated 625,000 people had practiced Qigong in the last 12 months, an 18.6% increase over 2002, according to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, as reported by the Qigong Institute. Qigong complements many treatment modalities, as it rejuvenates physical well-being and also renews emotional hope and joy in the recovery and prevention path ahead.

Qigong Master Mingtong Gu leads this five day Chi Center Retreat to provide training for the wellness professional at the scenic 194-acre EarthRise at IONS Retreat Center in Sonoma County. “Qigong helps wellness professionals in such fields as acupuncture, chiropractic, or therapy, reset your own mind, body and heart before you walk into every patient appointment. It helps avoid the fatigue, especially compassion fatigue, and the physical or mental exhaustion that wears down too many talented caregivers and forces early retirement.” This residential retreat provides intensive training and practice directly with Qigong Master Mingtong Gu, who trained in Wisdom Healing Qigong in China. The Retreat Center provides wholesome food, quiet lodging, scenic trails and gated grounds.
