In their first two years, the Poverty Resolutions team has delivered dozens of presentations. Now, they are attempting to broaden their reach by asking children, teens, and adults to adopt the mission in their own community. In July, they will be launching Poverty Week, an initiative that will provide the resources necessary for individuals to join Poverty Resolutions in spreading awareness.
The organization has developed a variety of educational programs and materials intended to illustrate the harsh realities of global poverty. By educating others about poverty and the ways in which it can be combated, they hope to engage the American population in their mission to resolve poverty worldwide.
Andrew and Matt Jones founded Poverty Resolutions after traveling to Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. They observed firsthand the extreme situation in which Haitians live, and decided to dedicate themselves to telling other Americans about the needs of people in poverty around the world.
Poverty Resolutions takes a unique approach to poverty reduction in the developing world; they differentiate themselves from other similar organizations by directing their focus at raising awareness among America’s youth, rather than exclusively implementing projects abroad.
