Visiting Angels, the nation’s leading provider of non-medical in-home senior care, will acknowledge seven staff members at its annual conference, which starts today. The private duty network recognizes members whose efforts continue to make a statement about Visiting Angels’ resolute endeavor to provide top-of-the-line care throughout the country.

Some of the honorees include Chris Smith from Pagosa Springs, Colorado who will receive the Rising Angel award for the quickest start up. Nate Stokes from Carthage, Missouri, whose business was destroyed when tornadoes ravaged the area, will receive the Sustained Excellence award for helping others before helping himself. Visiting Angels’ highest award for going above and beyond, the Founder’s Award, will go to Carl Knight from Littleton, Colorado.

“Visiting Angels is proud to bestow such esteemed awards to its colleagues. The Visiting Angels philosophy has always been two-fold: the best possible care will always be given to seniors who need elder care services while ensuring that the staff members receive the respect, attention, and quality work experience they deserve. The directors and staff have dedicated themselves to this philosophy and it is because of their combined efforts that Visiting Angels has reached the level of success, respect, and credibility it has today.” said Richard Bitner, Vice President of Marketing for Living Assistance Services, Inc.

Visiting Angels co-founder Jeffrey Johnson will kick off the three-day conference this Tuesday morning. The conference will include many noted guest speakers including Dave Dravecky, a former Major League baseball player for the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants who lost half of his deltoid muscle in his pitching arm to cancer.

Matthew Kelly will commence Wednesday’s events with his presentation titled “Building A Bigger Future”. Kelly, a partner of many Fortune 500 companies such as 3M, Ernst & Young, and Procter and Gamble, has spread his core message of being your best self to over four million people. In addition, he is the author of twelve books, which have appeared on revered bestseller lists such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.

Valeria VanBooven RN BSN, the President and CEO of LTC Expert Publications LLC. and Co-Owner of My Senior Service LLC., will also speak on Wednesday. In her speech, Referral Sources: Grow Them, VanBooven will focus on securing and retaining valuable professional referral sources.

The conference includes many other speakers, discussions, and a free concert featuring Christian recording artist Jaime Thietten. The actual awards ceremony will take place Thursday morning, followed by a group photo. Co-founder Larry Meigs will say a few words before the closing ceremonies.

Visiting Angels has invited all of their franchisees to join them at the conference. They also hold “Business Builder” events and regional meetings throughout the year to build relationships and learn from industry leaders.
