Los Robles Hospital just celebrated its annual health fair in Thousand Oaks, California. This year the health fair was held at the California Lutheran University campus. The health fair is a wonderful event that allows the public to participate in screenings by a variety of doctors and specialists. For the low fee of $25.00 patients are able to be screened and serviced for a variety of tests including; a Blood screening, Complete blood count (determining overall health), Lipid profile (cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglyceride), PSA (Men only—for prostate) Blood sugar (glucose) Asthma screening, Foot screening, Oral screening, Skin screening, Blood pressure, Body mass index, Nutritional information, and Oximetry (percentage of oxygen in red blood cells). For patients that are uninsured and cannot afford doctor visits, this is an opportunity to get a professional opinion and check up on their overall health. The Khanna Vision Institute was there to help patrons and share their expertise on all things vision. Health Fair patients were able to get a free eye screening as well as determine their reading vision, and if they are in need of glasses. Additionally, patients that were in need of an ophthalmologist were able to interact with the Khanna institute and set up follow up appointments at the office. In addition, this event allowed people to learn more about vision correction procedures such as Lasik and Prelex. Patrons learned about vision correction benefits, cost, and recovery. The Khanna Institute was happy to participate in such an event, and was egger to help the public discover their vision abilities, and vision needs.
