New York, NY (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

On Friday, May 11th, 2012, Carbon NYC, in partnership with Esquire Magazine and Ultimat Vodka, hosted 500 guests for the Third Annual Spring Charity Soirée. Held at Center 548, located in the heart of Chelsea’s gallery district, the event raised $100,000 for two local non-profit organizations benefiting arts education programs in New York Schools and local artists. The evening included a live musical performance by a Jazz Quartet from the famed Juilliard School followed by a set by internationally renowned DJ Reflex Le Roque. Gourmet hors d'oeuvres and catering were sponsored by Tastings NYC and Mint Management.

Supporters of the event bid on a number of one-of-a-kind, exclusive auction items and experiences including tickets to the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a day at the race track with professional Grand-Am Rolex Series drivers Michael Marsal and Jack McCarthy, dinner with Chopped Winner Charles Lopez, among many others. The primary beneficiary of the funds raised was Lincoln Center, a global leader in arts education, enhancing the education of underserved students in New York City and across the world. Lincoln Center Education widens access to the arts through unique and exceptional programs presented in schools and on Lincoln Center’s campus, bringing the highest caliber of performing arts to the broadest possible audience.

Funds were raised for Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation through a contemporary art auction curated by Rush Galleries, featuring local artists in the event space. Founded in 1995 by brothers Russell, Danny and Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, Rush Philanthropic is a 501c3 organization dedicated to providing public school students with invaluable arts education experiences, and empowering emerging underrepresented artists through exhibition opportunities at our two working galleries in New York City, Corridor Gallery and Rush Arts Gallery, our Rush programming includes our Rush Education Exchange and Artist in Residency. Any remaining artwork from the auction is available by clicking here.

The event was co-chaired by Carbon Members Alvin Crawford, Gregg Freedman and Walter McLallen.
