New York, NY (PRWEB) June 19, 2012

The Pierre, A Taj Hotel on New York’s Central Park, has introduced new Taj Royal Attaché services just for guests staying in the hotel’s 11 Grand Suites, luxurious accommodations with gracious living and entertaining spaces.

“Genuine inspired Indian hospitality has been a hallmark of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces for more than 100 years. This is particularly true in our royal palace hotels, where our highly trained royal butlers offer the finest personalized services to very discerning clientele. We are now bringing this Taj royal treatment to our U.S. flagship in New York,” said Raymond N. Bickson, Taj Hotels Managing Director and CEO.

A team of Taj Royal Attachés, all with extensive experience assisting royalty, heads of state and CEOs from around the world, will offer warm, intuitive palace-style services to Grand Suite guests at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel. The idea is for guests to feel they are coming home to a gracious, extremely well-staffed Fifth Avenue apartment where they are the ‘king’ and ‘queen’ of the castle.

Kathleen Shea, Vice President of Sales and Marketing - the Americas played a key role in developing the program. “From thousands of highly skilled candidates in India, we hand-selected three talented Taj Royal Attaches to join The Pierre, A Taj Hotel’s team. Their expertise coupled with the Taj Royal Attaché program showcases the brand’s celebrated Indian hospitality in a very tangible way. One stay with a Royal Attaché and it’ll be Taj Forever,” she stated.

The Taj Royal Attaché team at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel hails from the award-winning Taj Mahal in New Delhi, India’s “Washington, D.C.” that is the country’s seat of government with an extensive diplomatic corps, and the dreamy Taj Lake Palace that “floats” in the middle of Udapiur’s Lake Pichola in Rajasthan, the princely state that is home to many palaces with royalty still in residence.

The Royal Treatment

From a thoughtful welcome that includes a chilled towel and signature cocktail in suite, through departure with culinary treats to take along on their forward journey, Grand Suite guests will feel like royalty at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel.

Ritual bathing is an important component of the fabled lifestyle of maharajahs and Indian royalty. These imperial baths entail spices, herbs and oils whose natural healing properties cleanse and refresh the body. In this spirit, hotel guests may request a Royal Bath from a menu designed to relax, revive, detox or indulge. The Taj Royal Attaché will assemble organic, botanical potions, scrubs, creams and oils that combine to achieve the desired effect, and then draw the perfect bath in the guest’s Grand Suite deep soaking tub.

Among the signature experiences Grand Suite guests may enjoy are Royal Dining occasions*. The Taj Royal Attaché collaborates with guests to create a highly memorable celebration. A very special way to mark a birthday, anniversary or other milestone, guests will enjoy a custom Royal Dining menu created by The Pierre, A Taj Hotel’s Executive Chef Ashfer Biju, noted for his inventive mastery of world cuisine, including the multi-course royal feasts he designed for Taj Falaknuma Palace. Possible options include New York or Mediterranean Riviera favorites, traditional royal dishes from India, or a highly personal menu developed around the guests’ specific preferences. (*Food & beverage costs are additional)

The delectable Royal Dining experience (a dinner or late supper, brunch or lunch) may be enjoyed in-suite, or the Taj Royal Attaché can arrange an exclusive venue for a private table for two, complete with lavish floral displays, candlelight, musical accompaniment and more.

Guests’ belongings also receive the royal treatment, whether it’s a quick repair of a loose button or the extremely detailed shoe shine. For suite guests reluctant to say farewell to “their” Taj Royal Attaché, there is a parting grace note: your luggage will be packed with exquisite care, with all clothing perfectly folded and carefully wrapped in logo tissue paper.

The Taj Royal Attachés at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel will:

  •     Provide advance Grand Suite preparation according to the guest’s preferences: Arrange airport transfers; oversee stocking of kitchen pantry with desired beverages and snacks; provide selection of preferred newspapers, books, magazines, music, movies in living room; order specialty flowers; ensure that Housekeeping adds preferred bedding and pillows; organize a relaxing in-room spa treatment
  •     Assist with unpacking and packing, oversee all aspects of wardrobe, luggage and jewelry storage, as well as laundry, valet, pressing, mending, shoe care and repair
  •     Provide complimentary morning tea and coffee service
  •     Oversee in-suite preparation of Taj Royal Baths
  •     Orchestrate service for Taj Royal Dining experiences, including coordination of custom menus created by Executive Chef Ashfer Biju for meals and receptions, and served in-suite or in other regal spaces beyond the guests’ own suite, such as the Presidential Suite, a Grand Suite Terrace, or another hotel space in the hotel based on availability
  •     Coordinate closely with Guest Services and Concierge teams to accommodate and personalize every guest request from arrival to departure

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces previewed the new Taj Royal Attaché services to several top luxury travel agencies in New York and have been met with positive appraisals. “Taj has created a butler service that is a rarity in New York. When you have the elegance of a place like The Pierre, it fits very nicely. Taj really thought a lot about the program, instead of just buying a pair of white gloves,” said Protravel International’s President, Priscilla Alexander, when addressing her team about the Taj Royal Attaché program.

The execution of this unique brand pillar in North America will elevate and distinguish the guest experience for those staying at one of Taj’s three U.S. hotels. The Taj Royal Attaché service will begin first at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel in New York, with launch plans for Taj Boston and Taj Campton Place in San Francisco by the end of the year.
