Assessed by auditors from BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc., a global provider of assurance and compliance services, this compliance standard demonstrates ShoreGroup’s commitment to operating a services environment at the highest level of verified operational controls, procedures and processes to protect customer business assets. SSAE 16 supersedes the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) standard, which ShoreGroup has met annual audit and compliance requirements for since 2009.
Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 is an attestation standard put forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The examination covered a review period spanning twelve months, and is undertaken by a service auditor to report on controls used by ShoreGroup in providing services to its customers, where the controls are likely to be relevant to a customer’s internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). The SSAE “Type 2” designation involved an objective review of ShoreGroup’s systems including the suitability of the design and operating controls as reviewed with company management.
