Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 19, 2012
The Collingwood Group announced today that Brideen Gallagher will be promoted from Vice President of Business Development to Managing Director. In her new role, Gallagher will oversee The Collingwood Group’s Risk Management and Compliance Division in partnership with Managing Director Karen Garner.
Gallagher will support the firm’s risk management services designed to help the mortgage industry manage today’s challenging financial regulatory environment. The division is focused on mitigating the risk of enforcement actions and ensuring operational readiness and compliance with the rigorous requirements of Government lending.
"The value of being an FHA originator continues to be of utmost importance to many lenders and especially in the present day. Conversely, the compliance risks and penalties associated with originating and servicing government insured mortgages are too at all time highs as is the level of regulatory scrutiny," said Chairman Brian Montgomery.
As a seasoned mortgage banking professional, Gallagher is uniquely qualified to lead this division.
“Brideen has been an integral member of our team since she joined us a little over a year ago,” said Partner Tim Rood, “We look forward to continuing to utilize her expertise to expand the solutions and services we offer to the industry.”
Gallagher remarked, "I am very pleased to be part of Collingwood's Risk Management and Compliance team. With the ever-increasing focus on lenders by regulators, Collingwood is leading the charge for proactive management of compliance in all areas of a lender's operation."
Since February 2011, when she joined The Collingwood Group, Gallagher has contributed her invaluable industry experience in origination, operations, capital markets and third party correspondent business to support the expansion of the firm’s services. Gallagher will continue to leverage these skills in her new position.
Prior to joining the Collingwood Group, Gallagher held senior level account management positions with several top tier Correspondent lenders and was also a senior staff member at a hedge fund focused on the acquisition and disposition of distressed assets. Gallagher holds a Bachelors Degree as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Villanova University, and a Juris Doctor from Temple University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and a graduate of the Association’s Future Leader’s Program.
