The 10th Annual Bonny Doon Art & Wine festival will be held this year at the new Vigne Farms Equestrian Park. Proceeds from the festival help fund art, music and science programs for the Bonny Doon Elementary School.
This will be the first year Santa Cruz Sea Glass will be a featured artist. Krista Hammond owner says the area of Bonny Doon is very special to her explaining "the area is an environmental hot spot - meaning there is so much treasured and endangered biodiversity in Bonny Doon. From the coastal redwoods to the spotted salamander, the area is rich with beauty and natural resources. It is great to attend an Art & Wine festival that benefits local education programs."
Along with Santa Cruz Sea Glass, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation will be on hand offering information regarding the grand opening of the new Exploration Science Center, slated for July 23rd in Santa Cruz. Krista has been a donation partner and Leadership Committee Member for the Center since funding began in 2008. Krista also started the 4th annual Santa Cruz Sea Glass & Ocean Art Festival in 2009 to raise donations and awareness for the Center.
