Recently, The Layout Shop made a little aesthetic change to their site’s homepage. It involves the addition of a navigation sidebar to the right, the same found on their blog page. With this addition, the developers removed the sliding header from the homepage and rearranged the theme portraits.
What the site’s developers may have overlooked is that the change removed one of the sites more popular features, the Tumblog of the Month.
The Tumblog of the Month feature has been part of The Layout Shop for three months now. It spotlights Tumblr blogs by users who have installed and personalized themes for blogs made by the website.
This was used to show potential customers how much you could customize the Tumblr themes available in The Layout Shop. In a way, it was also a way for the site to feature users who have come up with creative ways to personalize their best Tumblr themes.
Past Tumblogs of the Months have reported a significant influx of followers after being featured on the site, indicating that the feature reaches a healthy amount of Tumblr users.
The website’s managers have not issued a statement about the omission of the feature and could not be reached for a comment on the matter.
The Layout Shop has been making many improvements since the arrival of the new development team and it is possible that the omission of the Tumblog of the Month feature may have simply been an oversight.
Currently, the new development team has yet to release a new theme since taking over the management of the website, despite having made the announcement of adding new themes about a month ago.
