The one year contract has three one-year options, all of which were accepted under the previous contract between GlobaFone and the State of Texas. The Portsmouth, NH-based company provided Texas with competitive pricing and their best value solutions in order to win the contract. Under the contract GlobaFone will provide clients in the State with Iridium, Inmarsat and Globalstar satellite products and airtime services. In addition, other States that choose to do so may buy off of the Texas contract at the specially negotiated prices.
