Pragmatic Works, a Florida-based technology company, has been named one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 50 Fastest Growing Private Sector Companies in Northeast Florida.
Pragmatic Works was started by Microsoft SQL Server MVP and author Brian Knight, who grew up locally before starting his own privately owned company.
“I always wanted to create a company that was quite a bit different; one that focused on growth of the customer and employee as its core purpose. As we doubled in size last year and tripled this year, we made sure that each employee was mentored and had a growth strategy to take them to the next level in their careers,” explained Knight.
As a result, many of Pragmatic Works’ employees are active in the technical community as a key part of the company culture. As speakers at numerous industry events or by delivering a wide range of expert training Pragmatic Works continues to grow by helping its employees gain both exposure and experience and by giving back to the larger SQL Server community.
“Our talented and dedicated employees as well as our award winning products have proven to be the perfect combination and reason for our strong growth in recent years,” said Knight.
Since its founding in 2007, the company has seen a large, steady increase in both staff and clients, serving over 5,500 customers including Stein Mart, Western Union, and Charles Schwab.
Pragmatic Works’ mission is to make businesses more intelligent by making technology simple to learn, use and accelerate. The company achieves this by developing software that speeds up and simplifies previously difficult projects and by delivering top-level consultants and trainers both onsite and remotely.
“We also focus on teaching each customer ‘how to fish’ as part of our core engagement. I didn’t want to be a consulting company that focused on deploying an army of consultants and setting up a condo near an organization. We want to build a relationship with companies that will no longer need us if we do our job right,” stated Knight.
By working with Pragmatic Works, Stein Mart was able to reduce its system maintenance costs by $50,000 every month through implementing a new data warehouse solution. With all signs pointing to continued growth, Pragmatic Works and its clients can look forward to a very successful future.
