Sellfy is an e-commerce platform that enables anyone to sell digital products directly to their fans and followers on Facebook, Twitter or their own website using just a link. In addition to that Sellfy releases affiliate program, a promotional layer for its merchants allowing fans to earn affiliate commissions or receive discounts in exchange of product recommendation.
E-commerce startup Sellfy also announces seed investment round from a group of angel investors that includes Skype co-founder Toivo Annus, long-time head of Skype Estonia Sten Tamkivi, as well as several telco executives from a leading Spanish cable operator.
Founder Maris Dagis says, “With Sellfy we aim to revolutionize the self-publishing space allowing artists, writers, photographers and other content producers to retain more control from publishers and keep a larger share of their revenues for themselves. We see huge potential in leveraging existing fan base of our merchants to use it as a promotion vehicle for their products.”
The Riga-based startup, which is less than a year old, already works with more than 3,000 merchants around the world. Previously they have been selected among the most promising startups in the Baltic region by participating in entrepreneurship accelerator StartupHighway. Sellfy has lately shown impressive results by doubling merchant transaction amounts for the last few months.
More to the point, “Sellfy’s growth rate proves that the market was waiting for such a simple platform to sell digital products across the social web. Furthermore with our recently launched affiliate program, merchants will be able to dramatically increase their sales by leveraging influencers,” says Cristobal Alonso, board member of Sellfy.
