Former victim of abuse and foster alum, Rhonda Sciortino, authored Succeed Because of What You've Been Through to help other victims overcome adversity and succeed not just despite what they've been through, but specifically because of it. The book tells her story and how she achieved success, and the accompanying workbook guides readers through their own retrospective process.
Sciortino says, "I wasn't the smartest, the prettiest, or the most athletic. I didn't marry a wealthy man or buy a winning lottery ticket. I succeeded because I am willing to work hard, learn from everyone I meet, and keep a positive attitude--something everyone at every skill level can do."
Some proceeds of the book support Successful Survivors Foundation, a non profit organization established to facilitate work ethic and character building training for foster youth and others facing exceptional life challenges. Sciortino says that for every book and workbook sold, a book and workbook will be provided to a foster teen.
