Saveology Wins First Place in Gilda’s Office Olympics

Saveology took home first prize in the Gilda’s Office Olympics, which was held Saturday June 16 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. Proceeds from the competition featuring a series of silly athletic events, benefited Gilda’s Club South Florida, which provides a free cancer support community for women, men, children and teens with all types of cancer and their families and friends.

A group of 21 companies took part in the initial rounds of events before the competition was whittled down to a final race. During the office chair relay, racers took turns pushing one another in a rolling office chair while the person in the chair held onto a glass filled with water. Saveology was the first team across the finish line with the glass intact and full of water and was declared the official winner.

The BankAtlantic Center provided a spacious venue in which to hold Gilda’s Office Olympics, and was a fitting place considering the multi-purpose arena hosts numerous cultural and sports events and is home to the NHL’s Florida Panthers. Saveology is a major sponsor of the Panthers, whose team practices at the Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Springs, Florida.

“The Office Olympics was a lot of fun, and it was for a good cause,” said Meredith Jimenez who oversees corporate development at Saveology. “Our employees keep their athletic skills sharp on the basketball court and putting green at our offices, but this was a unique opportunity to publicly demonstrate the competitive spirit and commitment to excellence that they possess. ”
