Stamford, CT (PRWEB) June 20, 2012
The SEED Center, a Stamford, CT based center for autism evaluation and treatment, will be offering a Summer Program for children with special needs. The program will focus on the development of social skills and provides much-needed support, structure, and professional supervision. It will also provide an alternative for children with special needs, who may not be able to meet the socialization demands of programs like summer camps or day care.
“Just because school is out doesn't mean your children can't spend their vacation learning and being productive,” says Evan Schermer, President and Co-Founder of the SEED Center. “Our Summer Program is designed to facilitate friendship, socialization, and of course fun!”
The Summer Program features short, structured social and recreational activities throughout the day, including things like science experiments, storytelling sessions, crafts, field trips, a variety of group games, social skill-building groups, and more. These activities are designed to help young children and adolescents develop social skills, build friendships, improve communication skills, encourage interpersonal relationships, and build self-esteem.
Children attending the program will benefit from close personal attention and activities in groups with low child-to-adult ratios. The program will provide unique recreational and creative activities specifically designed to meet the needs of its participants. Each child enrolled in the program is pre-screened to determine the most suitable placement and ensure he or she receives the most out of their time in the program.
Partial day, full day, and customized options are available. For more information or to register for the SEED Center’s Summer Program, call 203-674-8200 or email info(at)seedautismcenter(dot)com.
