Bows-n-Ties.com, a well-established online retailer of fine men’s ties and accessories, today announced plans to publish an article series entitled “The Psychology of Color in Men’s Fashion.” The series will consist of 10 pieces, each highlighting a specific color and its associated psychological implications.

“A lot of people can identify the colors they like to wear fairly easily, yet it’s not everyday that people actually take the time to learn about why they like to wear them, or what impact certain clothing colors have on other people around us,” says Bows-n-Ties.com founder Hendrik Pohl. “The fact is, every color comes with its own unique set of connotations, and fashion-forward individuals owe it to themselves to learn as much as they can about this. We used this notion as inspiration for our newest series on the psychology of color, and feel as if it will be one of our most informative collection of articles yet.”

Each article in the series highlights two important psychological aspects of the color being focused on, as well as a section focusing how to properly incorporate the color into an ensemble without creating a disconnect.

“Certain colors tend to be easier to wear than others, given the fact that they simply happen to be more common in men’s fashion,” says Pohl. “Trying to incorporate colors such as pink and purple into an outfit, on the other hand, tends to be a bit less instinctual. We want our readers to know that lesser-worn colors don’t need to be intimidating or off-limits, and can actually be very effective when worn correctly. The takeaway section at the end of each article is designed to break down any barriers that might exist in the minds of readers in a way that is approachable and easy to understand.”

The article series also contains a piece entitled “Color Meanings Throughout the World,” highlighting the differences in how specific colors are perceived from one country to another.

“A great deal of our readers travel for business, and the importance of knowing how specific colors will be received abroad should not be underestimated,” says Pohl. “After all, a color that is common in America may be considered offensive when worn improperly in other parts of the world, and having a solid understanding of these cultural differences is essential for anyone who travels abroad on an even semi-regular basis.” It is not the first time that Bows-n-Ties.com has been educating men on clothing in different cultures. In a recent series titled "Business Dress Around the Globe" the retailer gives traveling businessmen tips on cultural business dress codes and etiquette.
