Alma Lasers Acquires Quantel Derma

The acquisition of Quantel Derma brings to Alma Lasers a large and well respected portfolio of FDA & CE cleared high quality lasers, combined with a strong presence in major European and Asian channels.

Alma Lasers Ltd., the world's leading innovator of medical aesthetic technologies, announced today that is has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Quantel Derma GmbH (formerly known as Wavelight), a French and Germany based developer of laser technologies for dermatologists. The transaction, which is subject to typical closing terms, is expected to be completed by July, 2012.

Quantel Derma is part of the Quantel Group, a publicly traded company on the Paris stock exchange (Euronext). Quantel Derma sells its products across the world, with a particularly strong presence in Europe and Asia.

Under the terms of the agreement, Alma Lasers will acquire all of Quantel Derma's assets from the Quantel Group. Alma Lasers will integrate Quantel Derma's products within its current large portfolio, and accordingly provide its industry leading support and service to all existing Quantel Derma customers.

Quantel Derma's strong presence and direct operations in the German speaking countries will allow Alma Lasers to expand its business in these strategic markets. In addition, Alma Lasers will further enhance its current dominant global sales network, with existing Quantel Derma distribution channels.
