The move allows stakeholders to capitalize on strategic efficiencies and market interest. As one brand with three specialized service lines, USES serves as a one-stop resource offering and maintaining a cadre of experienced teams trained and equipped to conduct routine industrial and maritime cleaning services or to respond to emergencies of any scale.
USES has locations across Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
“This move is based on research, customer input and reflects the higher expectations and increasing sophistication found in today’s environmental services category,” said Greg Johnson, president of USES. “In aligning our complementary capabilities and strengths into a unified brand, USES delivers ready access to a range of proven services and a depth of expertise unmatched in our region. The feedback we have received in response to these changes has been very positive.”
Chief Executive Officer Barry Thibodeaux founded USES in 1996. Growth has been driven by increased sales and services to meet Gulf South customer needs, combined with strategic acquisitions of Abclean, TankCo and Pneumatic.
“Just as we adhere to best practices in the field, we evaluated our strengths, market potential and needs as part of an intensive strategic planning process,” Thibodeaux said. “Our realignment unlocks value in what had been three operating companies, allowing us to capitalize on collective strengths, raise the bar in regard to safety training and certifications, and serve as a ready resource covering the full spectrum of environmental services needs across the Gulf South.”
With decades of service, the company has demonstrated its capability to promptly deploy the correct teams and equipment for response and remediation to natural or man-made disasters and accidents. USES also provides cleaning services for vessels at anchorage in the lower Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico, offering ship, barge and shore-side tank cleaning, de-ballasting, storing and dunnage removal.
“USES knows the importance of compliance and understands the complexities of working within facilities, in confined spaces, on public and private land, and on the water,” said George Malvaney, chief operating officer of USES’ response and remediation division. “We’re prepared and ready to roll.”
Beyond marketing, USES unifies its service lines through extensive training. USES has invested in a 5,300-square-foot multi-purpose training center, with a dedicated team providing certification and advanced training for all on-site personnel. According to Rod Powell, chief operating officer of USES’ industrial services division, the company’s commitment to safety and ongoing training is designed to help attract and retain top-flight associates.
“We stay current with training and technology,” said Powell. “We also exercise good old-fashioned common sense in getting environmental maintenance and cleanup done right—safely, on time and on budget.”
Added Johnson, “We work hard and work smart to meet the varied on-site and industry-specific needs of our diverse customer base. By focusing on best practices and enhanced training, we believe USES will become the region’s environmental services provider of choice and the go-to company to count on for efficiency, professionalism and a total commitment to safety.”
