San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2012
Vanessa Gade Jewelry Design, the San Francisco-based jewelry designer known for her precise, handcrafted circles and elongated rectangles, announces the debut of her 2012 Collection, FORME, at Dwell on Design in Los Angeles on June 22-24, 2012. This is the first time Gade will be displaying her works at the West Coast’s Largest Design Show.
The FORME : 2012 Collection showcases Gade’s signature precise detailing and craftsmanship. The artist describes her work as contemporary, with clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of Japanese and Scandinavian design. Particular pieces have been inspired by everything from art deco architecture, ikebana flower arrangements, suspension bridges and even cris-crossing power lines. This latest collection FORME is a new direction from her previous work with symmetrical circles and elongated rectangles. FORME carries through her architectural aesthetics of movement and balance, while these new lines have an even more dynamic feel.
The Collection includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings in sterling silver, oxidized silver and14K Gold, ranging from $75 to $350.
The FORME : 2012 Collection will be available for purchase in July but a sneak preview is available on her website http://www.vanessagade.com.
“I loved the strength and simplicity of the word ‘forme’ and the various meanings behind it, such as shape, figure, or to make or to mold,” said designer Vanessa Gade, on the choice of the French word for the collections namesake, a homage to her Belgian mother.
“Architecture and design are such a foundation to each of my collections and I am beyond excited to introduce this new line to like-minded design enthusiasts at Dwell on Design this year.”
Gade’s passion for history and photography initiated her path to jewelry design. While studying to become a historian at the University of California, San Diego, she volunteered to help construct the new darkroom on campus, directly adjacent to the metalsmithing studio. Wandering inside the studio, Gade became fascinated by the tools, stones, and molten metal and never looked back. In 2006, she attended the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts Graduate Jeweler program; and, in 2007, she launched her first collection, Inner Circle and can now be found at fine boutiques and galleries across the country . She has been featured by respected media, including the L.A. Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and Daily Candy.
Curated by the editors of Dwell Magazine (http://www.dwell.com), the three-day celebration on June 22-24, 2012, brings together the best and brightest products, services, and thought leaders in modern design today for a series of conversations, demonstrations, tours, and much more. In addition to featuring over 350 exhibitors on the show floor, Dwell on Design encourages an ongoing design dialogue, showcasing over 70 presentations on three separate stages. This year, the show goes beyond the urban dwelling to encompass all aspects of the modern lifestyle, seeking out a new definition for modern beyond expectations.
