Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) June 21, 2012
Today, Edifecs, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare software solutions specializing in regulatory compliance tools for health plans and healthcare organizations, announced that Molina Healthcare has chosen the company as its strategic technology partner for ICD-10.
The Edifecs ICD-10 solution helps organizations achieve revenue neutrality and reduce operational workflow interruptions in the transition to ICD-10. Edifecs’ products and services support each phase of an ICD-10 project and provide guidance to customers for understanding and mitigating risk. The products can be used as an integrated suite or deployed independently.
“Edifecs’ broad spectrum of tools, services and hands-on experts helped our team at Molina Healthcare truly understand the full impact the ICD-10 transition will have on our organization,” said Richard Sanchez M.D., Sr. Vice President and Chief of Clinical Programs at Molina Healthcare. “With Edifecs’ knowledge and thoughtful demonstrations we were able to see how best to approach our ICD-10 migration project. The Edifecs ICD-10 solution will allow us to focus on how to approach the transition from an operations and clinical perspective.”
Molina Healthcare selected the Edifecs ICD-10 solution because of its code management and robust impact analytics capabilities, allowing the organization to identify relationships between ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes and simplify and improve the accuracy of mapping between the code sets.
“We are privileged to be a partner and source of ICD-10 education for Molina Healthcare,” said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. “As we’ve seen in recent months, the ICD-10 mandate is not one to be taken lightly – and we are extremely pleased to be able to provide organizations such as Molina Healthcare with valuable resources and tools to ensure the business outcomes outweigh the transition challenges.”
The migration from the ICD-9 to ICD-10 code sets will likely be one of the most extensive conversion projects the health ecosystem will undertake. The vast majority of IT systems and many healthcare policies will be affected. Recently, the Department of Health and Human Services issued a formal proposal to delay the ICD-10 compliance deadline by one year, which would slate the new compliance deadline as October 1, 2014.
