ComputeNext has been called an “uber-aggregator” of cloud services, and has been gaining traction amongst public cloud providers, bringing choice and interoperability to cloud consumers through a marketplace portal which they deem to be the equivalent of Expedia for cloud computing.
At launch users are able to launch servers and build complex workloads across multiple platforms and cloud providers from a single account. They claim that developers, ISVs, and Enterprise CIOs will all benefit from increased ease of operations, control, through the amassed options in their ‘on-demand ecosystem’ and that they will single handedly erase vendor lock-in and portability issues.
At 5PM PDT they will unveil their unique CSB model which focuses on offering choice in the cloud as a transparent marketplace. They’ll launch on stage as one of eleven start-ups selected as to compete at GigaOM’s Structure LaunchPad event. Past LaunchPad winners and losers have all gone on to pave roads through the IT wilderness and some notable participants include the likes of Cloudability, DotCloud, and CloudSwitch.
