Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 25, 2012

VideoPropulsion® (OTC:VPTV) broadens the Company's industry leading FloodGate® family of HDTV head-ends for hotels on Booth #1708 at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) here today. The state-of-the-art FG-4000 appliances work with virtually any content source including satellite providers DISH Network®, DirecTV®, and BellTV®, as well as CableCard® from most cable companies, and support all approved industry standard content protection including Pro:Idiom®, SamsungLYNK®, and Verimatrix® . The new offerings deliver up to 60 HD channels on COAX, IP, or mobile networks. The FG-4000 family allows operators, integrators, and resellers to provide hospitality and other commercial customers with the widest variety of choices for delivering Free-to-Guest (FTG) HD programming in the industry.

This generation of FloodGate appliances boast unique, new features highlighted by Stream Prioritization, Receiver Failover, enhanced SNMP monitoring, online configuration editing, extended satellite information, and a 3-year limited warranty - at 30% to 50% less cost, space, and power than previous products. VideoPropulsion's traditional FloodGate differentiators also include Electronic Program Guide (EPG), custom welcome channels, and SNMP status messaging.

"We are indeed thrilled to employ HITEC as a launching pad for our new FloodGate 4000 Series Free-to-Guest appliances,” affirms VideoPropulsion’s Chairman & CEO Carl Pick. "Our latest HD head-end products continue to emphasize our leadership in the North American hospitality industry as the preeminent HDTV Free-to-Guest supplier. Realization of the FG-4000 family demonstrates our ongoing commitment to constantly increase functionality while significantly lowering the costs per stream."

Three base models are available. The entry-level "Splash" FG-4100 delivers up to 12 HD channels, 1 Private Channel, and Receiver Failover. The mid-tier "Downpour" FG-4110 expands up to 40 channels, along with EPG, 4 Private Channels, and full monitoring, management, and fault recovery facilities. The top-of-the-line "Cloudburst" FG-4120 is the family's flagship model and provides as many as 60 channels, and is also full-featured.

Among the most valuable elements of the FloodGate products is the ability to both anticipate and recover from environmental problems. A system can diagnose and report issues from high room temperature to satellite receiver failure, and, in the event of a receiver loss, fail over to a hot standby or "cannibalize" lowest priority channels.

The EPG provides hospitality guests with a listing of the specific line-up available in their hotel room. Guests can view the schedule of current and future programming which allows them to quickly find shows and channels without surfing through the large lineup. This simple, but uncommon amenity offers guests the ability to conveniently plan viewing with ease.

A private channel facility gives the hotelier a way to display custom welcome channels for their guests using their own prerecorded SD or HD content played in a continuous loop. Private channels can be used to advertise hotel amenities, local attractions, or other content that the
venue may desire, on one or more channels on the guest room TV.

FloodGate FG-4000 series appliances began shipping in June.
