Cashiers, NC (PRWEB) June 22, 2012
Bear Lake Reserve, a Terramesa resort community located on Bear Creek Lake in the Cashiers region of North Carolina, is proud to announce the promotion of Joey Laughridge to General Manager. “We are pleased to have Joey continue in this role as GM of the Bear Lake team. His extensive history with the resort and his stellar reputation with our owners and within the local community will allow Bear Lake to continue as a premier Western North Carolina second home resort,” said Jason Leeds, President/COO of Terramesa Resorts.
Laughridge, a resident of Brevard, N.C., has worked at Bear Lake Reserve in numerous roles for six years. Joey recently commented: “Bear Lake is a one-of-a-kind resort in the Cashiers region because of its mountain, lake, golf, tennis and hiking venues as well as its exceptional built-out amenities like our 14,000-square foot Lake Club, resort pools, and our Mill Pond Clubhouse, Pavilion and highly coveted private fly fishing water.” Joey’s multi-faceted experience gives him a unique perspective of all ongoing resort activities and community operations. He has garnered much expertise from his previous engagements with area Western North Carolina resort communities, including Lake Toxaway and Brier Creek country clubs, prior to joining Bear Lake.
Joey and his team have already implemented wide-sweeping improvements to the resort’s hospitality sector since the fall. Joey works alongside Lake Club Manager Thom Leppert and VP of Construction and Development Larry Sartin. Some of their recent accomplishments include: the formation of an alliance with Castle Ladyhawke in which Bear Lake Reserve is a preferred vendor for catering, china rental, and onsite food and beverage service; the recent beautification of the Lake Club including a recent exterior re-stain, the introduction of wireless point-of-sales service, and farm-to-table food partnerships with local farmers to ensure food quality; and the notable addition of experienced professional chef Danny Pine to the Bear Lake Reserve team.
