The new book “A Collection of Bizarre Short Stories and Dreams” (published by Trafford Publishing) by E. R. Buckler leaves little ambiguity about the contents of the book – a surreal adventure through dreamlike glimpses into the lives and moments of an assortment of unique characters and settings.

Buckler describes the stories and characters in his book as multiple personalities. The vignettes he presents in “A Collection of Bizarre Short Stories and Dreams” are as unique and varied as they are peculiar and uncanny, often delving into detailed descriptions of seemingly surreal situations. But the stories are all rooted in Buckler’s experience, drawing inspiration from his life as well as his dreams.

An excerpt from “A Collection of Bizarre Short Stories and Dreams”:

“Hawk was one of those guys who had only one thing on his mind: women; and I suppose in this respect, he was not a great deal different from the rest of us. We all were a part of the bellbottomed crowd fighting the battle of San Diego during a time when many young men were dying for a principle. The battle was simply this: get as much liberty as possible, find as many bars that would admit minors as possible, and latch on to some broad, if possible, before curfew so that you would have something to tell your buddies when you returned to the barracks.”

As the straightforward title suggests, Buckler is not one to mince words. When asked what makes his book different from other books like it, he characteristically replied, “Brevity,” leaving the meanings of the enigmatic plotlines up to the reader to decipher.
