9th Annual National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) National Small Business Conference – Lt. Gen. Lawrence P. Farrell, Jr. USAF (RET), President & CEO of NDIA presented Mr. Peter Provenzano, President & CEO of SupplyCore with the Kathleen P. Sridhar Small Business Executive of the Year Award. The award is one of three awards given by NDIA. Peter joins awardees for the James Forrestal Industry Leadership Award given to Ralph D. Crosby, Chief Executive of EADS North America, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award given to Hon. Howard P. (Buck) McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
The award recognizes leadership and strategic impact in the defense industrial base and is named in honor of Dr. Kathleen P. Sridhar, who was a small business CEO of uncommon ability and accomplishment. The Award was presented to Mr. Provenzano in recognition of his outstanding service as the President & CEO of SupplyCore, a leader in integrated logistics solutions and in providing supply chain management services to the Department of Defense. SupplyCore is headquartered in Rockford, Illinois.
Mr. Provenzano was nominated for being a strategic visionary who can see beyond the horizon while not losing sight of the day-to-day-activities of the firm, and was recognized for creating coaching and mentoring programs at SupplyCore that keep associates committed to personal development. In addition, Mr. Provenzano helped to found the NDIA Great Lakes Chapter in 2009 and currently serves as president where, since its inception, chapter efforts have resulted in increased membership year after year and model chapter status.
As a small business owner and president of the NDIA Great Lakes Chapter, Peter engages thousands of small businesses by advocating at both congressional and defense levels, as well as sponsoring events. He has worked to establish viable networks and partnerships’ increasing small business wins.
