Dr. Richard Ellenbogen, plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, was recently honored by the Aesthetic Academy for the best facial plastic surgery result. The award honors the very best in aesthetic medicine in one of the world’s top cosmetic procedure markets. There are 100 entrants in this competition. He was also honored as one of the Top 10 Surgeons in Los Angeles in the Top 10 in America Organization on Saturday June 2nd.
Ellenbogen began his career in New York City. He has served in numerous fellowships where he aided organizations like the Red Cross in their effort to provide life changing plastic surgery to people with birth defects in third world countries. He opened his practice known as Beverly Hills Body and has since acquired a large celebrity clientele which has grown to include actors, musicians, and political icons.
In addition to being featured in multiple national publications such as People Magazine, USA Today, The New York Times, and the Oprah Winfrey Show; Dr. Ellenbogen has recently filmed a segment with NBC chronicling his pro-bono “smile restoration” project for an uninsured man with mouth cancer. This month he is filming a segment with ABC’s Nightline that uncovers the “beautification” process from pre-op through recovery. Fat grafting, chin augmentation and rhinoplasty was performed on a television producer.
He has been the chief of a prestigious aesthetic plastic surgery postgraduate fellowship for over 25 years where he works diligently to share his knowledge with the next generation of surgeons. Many of the world’s top plastic surgeons are graduates of this program.
Ellenbogen is often referred to as the “father of fat-grafting” after pioneering the technique and being the first to publish results in a peer review journal. And Oprah fondly referred to him as “Hollywood’s answer to aging” for his proficiency in facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and liposuction.
Over the years, Dr. Ellenbogen has performed over 25,000 surgeries including over 4,000 breast augmentation surgeries and countless non-surgical “beautification” procedures; but today, in addition to running all encompassing Beverly Hills aesthetic plastic surgery clinic, he focuses his energy on re-doing unsatisfactory plastic surgery results, researching the practical uses of stem cells, and performing pro-bono surgeries for those in need.
