Destin, Florida (PRWEB) June 24, 2012
The National Weather Bureau announced that through satellite imagery and surface observations, a low pressure area located just north of the Yucatan Peninsula has become better defined and expects a 70 percent chance that this depression will become a tropical cyclone this weekend. The storm will move slowly northward which may produce heavy rains and localized flooding for southern Florida through Saturday.
The Weather Channel reports that computer models are still not reliable at the present time. These models are showing that the storm can hit anywhere throughout all coastal areas of the Gulf of Mexico from Southern Florida to Southern Texas. Disaster Relief Supply, a leading retailer of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery products, recommends anyone that may be affected by this storm to monitor the weather service with a Weather Radio and keep in touch with the National Hurricane Center for the progress of this storm.
In anticipation of this tropical storm, Disaster Relief Supply, located in Destin, FL, is running a special sale on all generators including Briggs & Stratton and Steele. All these generators are in stock and ready for immediately delivery to help businesses and homeowners prepare for the storm which may result in power outages. Inverters, portable power packs, and solar panels are also available for immediate delivery.
Besides preparing for power outages, Disaster Relief Supply also recommends stocking up on clean drinking water and food supplies. In the event of a major storm, water supplies may become contaminated and grocery stores can run out of food in 2 to 3 days without receiving fresh supplies. FEMA recommends storing ½ gallon of water per person per day for emergency use. Keep at least a 7 day supply of each on the shelf.
