Chatsworth, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2012
1105 Media, Inc., announces the conversion of T.H.E. Journal and Campus Technology from their traditional print format to all-digital versions, enabling enhanced, more dynamic online experiences for readers. The all-digital publications will be sent directly to subscribers’ e-mail beginning in August. Apple and Android apps for both publications will launch in the weeks following this digital conversion.
“Today’s education professionals work hard every day to deliver a 21st century education to their students,” says Wendy LaDuke, publisher and president of 1105 Media’s Education Group. “Converting our education-focused publications to a 21st-century digital format allows us to support these professionals with easy access to engaging, interactive, up-to-the-minute information.”
LaDuke emphasized the digital conversion of T.H.E. Journal and Campus Technology is revolutionizing the way education publications deliver and share content. “Our new digital magazines go beyond the standard PDF format that many publications produce,” she said, “creating a more immersive, interactive environment that education professionals can actively participate in and enjoy.”
The print-to-digital conversion provides education professionals with a broad range of new features and more editorial content. It also reduces 1105 Media’s carbon footprint by as much as 4.6 metric tons annually, equating to an estimated 125 tons of paper annually or roughly 23 trees.
“This change offers amazing opportunities to engage our readers,” noted Therese Mageau, editorial director, 1105 Media Education Group. “The all-digital magazines incorporate numerous multimedia components and social media sharing options—they are the future of publishing.”
Special print editions of the magazines will align with key industry conferences, such as FETC, held in Orlando every January, and Campus Technology, held in Boston every July.
For 40 years, T.H.E. Journal has served the K-12 education sector, while Campus Technology has delivered quality content to higher education technology professionals for 28 years. Both publications cover the latest teaching and learning applications, operational and administrative innovations, and technology trends across education markets.
