It’s time for the fortnight at Wimbledon, but Broach Sports Tours is also looking ahead to the 2012 US Open tennis championships.
Broach will again offer a variety of tennis travel packages to the US Open, including a Labor Day weekend package and then a Championship package the following weekend.
The US Open will be held Aug. 27 to Sept. 9 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow, N.Y.
Carlos McCracken, Broach’s director of tennis, said that Broach’s US Open tours are unique for several reasons. The biggest, perhaps, is the insider tips provided by Broach’s experienced hosts, who have gone to the US Open for decades.
“People who have been to the Open many times say that when they go with us, the insider tips and things to see and do are things they didn’t realize they could do by just going on their own,” McCracken said. “I’ve heard that from fans time after time.
“We also do something unique by taking the water taxi three blocks from the hotel across the East River to Citi Field, which is within walking distance of the USTA National Tennis Center. So we have a lot of fun coming and going.”
Broach’s Labor Day package is for four days and three nights, with fans getting the option of coming Friday, Aug. 31 and leaving Monday, Sept. 3, or else coming Saturday, Sept. 1 and leaving Tuesday, Sept. 4.
That packages includes tickets for three sessions (Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon), three nights accommodations at the Millennium Hotel UN Plaza, transportation and other amenities. The package costs $971 per person double occupancy, or $1141 per person double occupancy for an upgrade to the W Hotel Times Square.
Broach’s Championship Weekend package is for four days and three nights, Friday, Sept. 7 through Monday, Sept. 10.
It includes tickets for three sessions (Saturday afternoon men’s singles semifinals, Saturday evening women’s singles final, Sunday afternoon men’s singles final), three nights accommodations at the Millennium Hotel UN Plaza, transportation and other amenities. The package costs $1231 per person double occupancy or $1646 per person double occupancy for an upgrade to the W Hotel Times Square.
Broach also offers ticket options for air travel, New York Yankees games and Broadway plays, and can customize packages to suit each fan’s wish list.
“The bottom line is that we have a lot of fun,” McCracken said. “We stay where some of the players stay at, and our people meet fans from all over the world and they come back at night and share their experiences at the hotel, and that’s really neat.”
Broach’s Wimbledon packages are also still available for the middle rounds, with four nights hotel accommodations and two days at Wimbledon starting on June 29.
