Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) June 27, 2012

To celebrate winning a local small business award, Critical Care & Veterinary Specialists of Sarasota (CCVSS) is offering free shipping on its easy-to-use pet rehabilitation and pet fitness DVD.

CCVSS was named the 2012 Frank G. Berlin Sr. Small Business Awards winner by the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce June 5, and to commemorate the honor, will ship the DVD, “Canine Rehabilitation for Spinal Injury or Back Surgery—Including Exercises for Your Pet’s Health and Long-Term Fitness,” for free through July, a savings of $5, said Dr. Anne Chauvet, a veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon who is CCVSS’ founder. The DVD includes step-by-step demonstrations for 30 exercises and therapies to help pet owners improve their dogs’ core and muscle strength and increase flexibility and coordination, said Chauvet, who is the DVD’s producer. Those purchasing the DVD must enter the words “free shipping” in the box for additional instructions to the seller, and shipping and handling will not be charged.

The DVD’s exercises have been taught to Chauvet’s clients for many years to help rehabilitate pets after back surgery or injury, she said. The exercises also can be used for overall pet fitness and by those who wish to find creative ways to add pet exercises to their dogs’ daily routines, particularly to assist with weight loss for an overweight dog, she said.

“If you want to know beneficial ways to exercise your dog, this DVD can show you how to exercise your dog using correct methods for performing the exercises. These exercises can be life-changing for pets following a back injury or surgery,” Chauvet said. “If your pet has had surgery or an injury, it is important that these exercises are only done with the care of a veterinarian or pet rehabilitation specialist. Even for overall fitness, pet owners should consult with their veterinarian before starting any exercise program.” More information on the DVD is available online at HeathyPetRehab.com.

Known internationally for her specialized work in the relatively rare field of veterinary neurology, Chauvet routinely performs complex back and brain surgeries on dogs and cats. She also speaks and consults with veterinary practices and organizations globally.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, completed a small animal medicine/surgery internship at the University of Illinois in Urbana and finished her residency in neurology/neurosurgery at the University of California, Davis. Chauvet has been trained in small animal rehabilitation by the Canine Rehabilitation Institute of Wellington, Fla.
