Akron, OH (PRWEB) June 25, 2012

On Wednesday, June 20, 2012 Cassie Shumacher promoting her Wheels4Change chose to end her solo ride in Race Across America (RAAM) due to severe exhaustion. The race began in Oceanside, California on Tuesday, June 12 through the deserts of Arizona, Utah and the Rocky Mountains. Traveling 1774 miles in seven days, Cassie ended her participation in Weaublea, Missouri.

Cassie raced to bring awareness and raised $35,000 to help veterans returning from active service.

Cassie’s journey could not be possible without the support of her family, many friends, fellow cycle enthusiasts, and veterans. It is fine tribute on the 40th anniversary of Title 9 (June 23, 1972), which enabled women like Cassie to compete in sports alongside men. As an athlete Cassie thanks all the women who had struggled to make it possible for her to be an endurance cyclists.

Wheels4Change will continue to advance support for veterans while promoting cycling for all ages. Visit http://www.wheels4change.com for updates.
