Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 25, 2012
Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy, an institution of learning for elementary and secondary students, is designed to provide an advanced college preparatory school alternative to the public school environment. Legacy Preparatory will open locations in Dallas, Mesquite and Richardson for the 2012 school year. Legacy Preparatory receives funding from the state of Texas, therefore, the schools offer open enrollment and free tuition for students who reside within the Dallas area and adhere to all state educational requirements. Enrollment for 2012 has begun for students from kindergarten through seventh grade. Additional grades will be added each year until reaching K-12.
The innovative teaching methods practiced at Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy are designed to develop independence and creativity in students in elementary and secondary school grade levels. Legacy Preparatory offers the highest quality college preparatory curriculum at no additional cost, providing parents and students with a real choice in publicly funded education.
The Legacy Preparatory curriculum is distinctly different from that offered by public schools and features advanced teaching methods and classes that challenge students and instill a love of learning in even the youngest children. Kindergarten and first grade students will learn Spanish and English in an innovative Dual Language Program that will help them develop advanced language skills. This will prepare them for the planned introduction to Chinese in the fifth grade. Legacy Preparatory classes will also offer a focus on Montessori learning methods and Project-Based Learning techniques that emphasis independent thinking and problem solving strategies. Spanish will be offered in each grade so the students will be ready to tackle PreAP Spanish by middle school. Legacy Prep will be the first independent charter school in Texas and one of only two in the nation to offer New Tech Network (NTN), which consists of one-on-one technology to student instruction, starting in 6th grade.
By combining the required coursework of the Texas educational system with these advanced techniques for learning and teaching, the Legacy Preparatory team can ensure that each child measures up to his or her full potential in the academic setting. This allows parents and students to derive greater benefit from free public education by choosing Legacy Preparatory and its focus on academic excellence.
