The New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC) awarded PublicStuff 1st place in the Location Services Subcategory for their innovative use in using GPS technology to target the exact location of public service requests. PublicStuff accepted the award at the NJTC Mobile App Forum on Thursday, June 14th, 2012.

PublicStuff is the leader in citizen request management systems and currently used by more than 150 cities nationwide and growing internationally. Utilizing web and mobile tools, citizens are able to easily submit public service requests in real time, from any location, and have those requests sent directly to the correct city staff member in the right department. Cities are then able to provide status updates and communicate back to the resident regarding their request submission. The efficiency and accuracy in which citizen requests are able to be reported, have caught the eye of many technology leaders, including, the New Jersey Technology Council.

The NJTC is the leader in connecting companies, capital and governments with technology in the state of New Jersey. To follow along with their mission, the NJTC partnered with the Canadian Consulate General and Research in Motion, to host a Mobile App Forum on Thursday, June 14th at Princeton University. The mobile app competition and forum was designed to highlight the best of the best in mobile app development. PublicStuff was awarded 1st place for their use in Location Services.

The award honored PublicStuff utilization of geo-location satellite technology to pinpoint the exact location of service requests that are being reported. The mobile app is able to auto-detect the precise location of the mobile user. Users are also able to “flag” a location of a service request during the course of their daily travels, and fill out the reporting details at a later time. The integration with Google maps, ESRI and satellite technology provides even further accuracy as city staff members are able to see the exact location of a request, as well as the satellite street view, to observe requests in even more detail.

PublicStuff’s seamless integration with backend workflow suites, like Cityworks, coupled with detailed ESRI mapping layers, allows for further efficiency in its use.
