Enrollment Builders’ founder, Cam Cruickshank, Ph.D., will be speaking at TFA’s 8th Annual Student Retention and Recruitment Workshop. The event will be held in Baltimore, Maryland on July 16-19, 2012, and is specifically designed for those involved or interested in creating and evaluating practical strategies for improving student recruitment and college retention efforts. In addition to Dr. Cruickshank, this workshop will also include a number of the most respected researchers and practitioners in the field, including: James Groccia, Ed.D.; Freeman Hrabowski, III, Ph.D.; Joseph Cuseo, Ph.D.; and C. Carney Strange, Ph.D.
Dr. Cruickshank will lead two sessions at the workshop, “New Directions in Marketing & Recruitment for Online Learners” and “Online Learners: Refining Student Services to Improve Retention,” each with a focus on practical applications to better serve online learners.
Dr. Cruickshank's first presentation, “New Directions in Marketing & Recruitment for Online Learners,” will enable participants to understand some of the most effective marketing and recruitment strategies being used to attract online learners. Participants will discuss the suite of performance marketing strategies commonly employed in online student recruitment; the importance of an integrated marketing communications approach to inquiry response; key performance indicators in online student recruitment; and various work roles, technologies, and services that can be used to support online learners.
His second presentation, “Online Learners: Refining Student Services to Improve Retention,” will educate participants about various online student services and how to implement strategies leading to improved student satisfaction and persistence with online learners. Topics of discussion will include all of the “touch points” that affect retention and student services for online learners; the importance of providing student services and providing resources that are specific to online learners; and pathways to developing comprehensive and strategic online student services that contribute to higher persistence and graduation rates.
“I am very much looking forward to facilitating these discussions at TFA’s 8th Annual Student Retention and Recruitment Workshop. TFA is one of the best resources for helping colleges and universities increase student retention and student success. I am eager to reconnect with my colleagues at TFA and to visit with Teresa, who has been an important advisor and mentor to me,” said Dr. Cruickshank.
