The LuxCloud Summit was held in Luxembourg at the Meliá Hotel. Following registration, attendees had the opportunity to network and view the sponsors’ area, where there were representatives from Open-Xchange, IBM, Parallels, Microsoft, BackupAgent, CertiVox, EuroDNS, GateSecure, OnApp and SpamExperts.

Marco Houwen, Founder and CEO of LuxCloud, welcomed everyone to the Summit with a rousing speech and promised to demonstrate the company’s leadership in the cloud industry. He said, “I would like to thank all our sponsors and attendees for the support they have given, industry leaders have travelled from all over the world to be here with us.” He continued, “The response to our inaugural Summit has exceeded all my expectations and I say, be proud, be LuxCloud.”

Keynote speakers give full support to LuxCloud

LuxCloud were proud to introduce high level, keynote speakers including Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange, Jesper Frederiksen, General Manager, Europe & Northern Africa, Parallels, and Gøran Andersson, Operator Channel, Microsoft. The speakers all expressed absolute confidence in LuxCloud’s offerings whilst presenting their views on working in the cloud, and the future of the industry.

Following a networking lunch, sponsored by IBM, attendees were given the choice of attending various workshops run by LuxCloud and their partners; subjects included LuxCloud’s roadmap, Hosted365 in depth, secure email, successful selling, and marketing to SMBs. Attendees discussed specific areas of effective collaboration, examined current successes, exchanged ideas for successful start-ups, and proposed insights and solutions for possible challenges in the future.

It was widely agreed, during the wrap-up session, that the LuxCloud team encompass a unique combination of technical and business skills, with the software solutions and services required to assure their partners’ success in the SaaS industry. At the end of a long and fruitful day, cocktails, sponsored by IBM, were welcomed with smiles. Attendees were then transported to an exclusive restaurant in the heart of the Rives de Clausen on the banks of the Alzette, for apéritif and dîner de clôture, sponsored by Open-Xchange; the only possible way to end such a perfect day. Marco thanked everyone for their support and help in creating such an educating, fun and exciting event, he said, “This is just the beginning, with such an overwhelming response to this, our first Summit, we will definitely be back next year; see you in 2013.”
