“We recently had the opportunity to complete 'Health Audits' on all the members of a high school football program with a decades-long legacy of dominating, nationally. I entered the premises excited and expecting to see strong young men with muscles bulging, towering over me. I was utterly appalled,” stated Brad Davidson, Vice President of R & D for Stark.
Davidson is the brain behind creating personalized diet and supplement plans for athletes. His continual dedication to finding natural, healthy ways in which to drive athletes at all levels to peak performance is what makes this new venture so exciting. “This question entered my mind: what in the world has happened to our youth? I have recently heard over the last few years that my generation (Generation X, 1965-1979) would be the first generation to outlive our children. A frightening thought. After my experience with these young football players, sadly, I agree.”
At a glance, the football players looked like larger but average kids. Unfortunately, according to Davidson, average means “. . . . over-weight, toxic . . . . [and] sickly.” Another frustration of Davidson is the sale to young athletes, by the local vitamin shops, of supplements to enhance their performance: Creatine, pro hormones like Tren and Torque, and vasodilators like N.O. Explode. Says Davidson, “Listening to these young athletes describe their diets left me wondering what it is, exactly, they are attempting to enhance. They are unhealthy and thus are literally wasting money on supplements.” During his individual interviews, he was shocked at the number of athletes, performing at these levels that don’t eat real food anymore.
“Most of their days start off with cereal, progress midday to fast food like Taco Bell, and finish off with pizza. Who needs water anymore when you can consume Gatorade and soda?” Davidson was clearly exacerbated.
Researchers and doctors across the country are beginning to agree that the reason, as a society, we are getting fatter and sicker is due to 3 things: stress, toxicity, and malnourishment. According to Davidson, these kids were an entire football team of stressed, toxic, and malnourished individuals.
This is the central to his motivation: “As a concerned father witnessing the sad state of our youth, we’ve created a new mission for our company. We will now be voice for young athletes, reaching out for the sole purpose of teaching them how to care for themselves, lasting through their adulthood,” says Davidson. “These kids don’t need performance enhancing supplements; they need performance enhancing diets combined with true nutrient replenishing supplementation. We’ve been practicing this for years. I’m embarrassed to say we haven’t done this sooner.” Already starting with seminars organized through high school coaches, Brad Davidson and his team at Stark intend to preach the message of good health through proper diet for young people.
