Saint Leo, FL (PRWEB) June 28, 2012

Saint Leo University signed an academic agreement with the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) at MacDill Air Force Base, enabling JSOU students to enroll in criminal justice degree programs at Saint Leo. Students can earn a criminal justice degree online, a bachelor of criminal justice with a specialization in homeland security, or a certificate in homeland security from Saint Leo University.

The Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) delivers educational opportunities to military and civilian Special Operations Forces (SOF) around the world through in-residence courses and the integration of SOF curriculum with service Professional Military Education Schools.

The agreement between Saint Leo and JSOU expands the degree completion options for JSOU students. Military students may begin their studies at the MacDill Air Force Base campus, and if they’re deployed or relocated—finish their degree online.

Saint Leo has had a long-standing relationship with the military. More than 5,000 men and women of the armed forces are enrolled in a Saint Leo University degree program—approximately 30% of the university-wide community. And, the JSOU is located at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., where Saint Leo established its first Continuing Education Center, in 1974.

Ranked among the nation's most military-friendly institutions by G.I. Jobs and Military Advanced Education magazines, Saint Leo University has been educating criminal justice professionals for more than three decades. In response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, at the request of the U.S. Navy, Saint Leo University began offering a criminal justice degree online with a homeland security specialization and an equivalent bachelor degree at its central Florida campus and continuing education centers.
