Electric Picture Company, an established Minnesota-based production company, has launched a new video content division to service the explosive growth in social media marketing. The new division, Yes Nonsense, was established specifically to help marketers embrace and deploy rich media as a strategic social marketing tactic.
Principle Dan Nyberg says: “More and more companies are finding success by engaging their customers with authentic and informative videos that are delivered via their social networks. This is especially true when the videos are presented in a more personal, fun way that they will more likely share with others. Use of video in these business networks is taking off with no end in sight.”
Yes Nonsense works directly with clients, or with their agencies, to develop and distribute social media video content in a planned, time-release and integrated strategy rather than as one-off projects.
According to Tom Borgman, Director of Marketing/Development: “Social video can tap into psychological triggers that drive broader, more effective content sharing which in turn, results in lasting branding and messaging outcomes. It does, however, require a more organic and engaging approach. Clearly, the most effective efforts feature a lighter, more human touch and, are perhaps, even nonsensical at times - the very basis of our somewhat unconventional moniker.”
Borgman cites a recent example in which Yes Nonsense helped the Minnesota Opera execute a successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign.
Jenna Wolf, the Minnesota Opera’s development officer explains, “Working with Yes Nonsense on video content for THE GIVER Kickstarter campaign has been a fantastic experience. The quality of the videos produced is first-rate, and we were provided with several new and exciting options for social media distribution. Yes Nonsense created video modules for us to release every week during the campaign. The videos have truly given our patrons a personal behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating a new children’s opera. They have also created a new channel of communication and education to bring our patrons closer to the organization. I truly believe the success of the campaign is largely due to the Yes Nonsense video content and creative social media distribution plan.”
