Denver, CO (PRWEB) June 27, 2012
Heupel Law, a leading bankruptcy law firm, announced today that it is celebrating five years of supporting the Center for Work Education and Employment (CWEE), a Colorado non-profit organization that helps low-income single parents develop and expand the skills necessary to obtain continuous employment in the Denver Metro Area. Heupel Law supports CWEE because of their commitment to empower people and end their dependency on welfare. To date, Heupel Law employs three CWEE graduates and corporate contributions total $2600 in donations and luncheon sponsorships.
“Our mission is to help good people get out of debt and give them a fresh start,” said Kevin D. Heupel, president and founder of Heupel Law. “We wholeheartedly support CWEE’s goal of providing services needed to prepare welfare recipients to become self-supporting. When three job positions became available at Heupel Law, we interviewed multiple candidates with many different backgrounds and decided to hire three confident, talented graduates from the CWEE program.”
Founded in 1982, CWEE fosters personal and professional transformation for low-income single parent families through confidence building, customized skills training, and career advancement. CWEE’s sources of funding include foundation grants, corporate gifts and sponsorships, and individual donations. CWEE’s programs and services are also partially funded by fee-for-service contracts with the Denver Office of Economic Development/Division of Workforce Development, the Adams County Human Services Department, and the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services.
“Kevin Heupel’s support of CWEE is tremendous,” said Amy Downing, employment services supervisor at CWEE. “There are a variety of ways in which employers can engage with CWEE and its participants. Kevin has demonstrated diligence and dedication by becoming an internship site for program participants and also a premier employer of CWEE graduates.”
