Real Food Daily has been voted the People's Choice winner of the 2012 Los Angeles area Nature's Plate award. The honor coincides with another milestone, as Real Food Daily celebrates the nineteenth anniversary of its first location in Santa Monica.

RFD is Southern California’s premiere organic vegan restaurant serving a quality, authentic, creative, and nutritionally balanced menu. Since 1993, RFD has been a cherished destination where community happens around education, connection and hospitality, over delicious, accessible food that’s real. Owner and founder Ann Gentry recently opened a new Real Food Daily in Pasadena and has remodeled her West Hollywood Real Food Daily location.

The Nature's Plate award (http://www.nature.org/naturesplate) is a nationwide competition supported by Open Table and presented by the Nature Conservancy. The winning restaurants seek out sustainable sources, use organic produce and ingredients, focus on local and seasonal produce, and serve tap water rather than bottled water. Real Food Daily is in good company, with winners in ten other cities including Founding Farmers in Washington, DC, The Green Table in New York, Gather in the San Francisco Bay area and Market 17 in Miami.

Bon Appétit magazine declared “Ann Gentry, the creator of Real Food Daily has taken two different California trends – vegetarian foods, and the organic seasonal cooking popularized by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse – and come up with a cuisine that is as interesting and delicious as it is healthful.” Ann Gentry is the executive chef to "Vegetarian Times" and is the author of The "Real Food Daily Cookbook" and "Vegan Family Meals, Real Food For Everyone."
