The Tour de France starts on June 30th. A bike shop in Woodland Hills aims to make watching the Tour a little more fun - while giving its customers a chance to win a Trek Allant bicycle.
The bike shop is holding a contest during which customers will attempt to predict the winners of each stage of the Tour, accumulating points throughout the event. The customer with the most points at the end of the Tour will win the bike.
"In the same way that playing Fantasy Baseball or Fantasy Football causes fans of those sports to enjoy their viewing experience in new ways, so does having a stake in who wins a given stage of the Tour de France," explains David Kooi, owner of the Santa Monica Mountains Cyclery.
Customers will make their picks by commenting on daily posts on the shop's Facebook wall.
