Local day spa owner Jan Jordan of DayDreams Day Spa receives a barrage of requests from many deal of the day websites asking her to offer cut rate discounts of 50-75% in order to gain a flood of new customers. Although she refuses to undermine her brand’s value and reputation, she has found a way to reward her existing loyal clients and attract new ones for her Massage Brandon FL and Lakeland FL services.

“I honestly don’t know how any spa can participate in these types of daily deal programs and still profit. The concept is that you receive hundreds of new customers and take a substantial loss up front but gain repeat business for the future at regular price. However, after talking with many other business owners that have tried these programs, it seems from experience that these types of customers just move on to the next spa offering a daily deal and don’t really maintain any loyalty.”

Jan decided that she could meet the needs of both new customers and existing ones by simply offering an in house discount to them for purchasing a series of massages of 3 or more. “It has been very popular since we introduced it about a month ago and it allows us to provide an incentive to our clients without having to worry about devaluing our brand or trying to meet the overwhelming demand for appointments from an influx of hundreds of new clients all at once. It also allows us to compete with some of the larger corporate entities that already maintain this model of pricing.”

She also recently introduced a client VIP program that offers her regular clients an option for special privileges as well as discounts and even free services. “That program has taken off like wildfire and we really underestimated the popularity of it when coming up with the concept. It allows our loyal clients to not just receive discounts on massage but all other services as well. Our Pedicure Chairs have been pulling double duty due to this and the summer beach season.”

Both programs have been in full swing for about a month at both of the spa’s locations in Brandon and Lakeland, FL.
