A corporate-wide transformation of how assets are managed, preventive maintenance ensured, and capital investment needs forecasted has earned Pathway Senior Living, LLC a Spirit of Innovation Award from LTC & Senior Living LINK. The award will be presented at the 2012 LINK Conference at the end of July in Chicago, where Pathway senior executives will share their story.
Recognizing that managing through manual spreadsheets is not the way of the future – and increasingly problematic for an executive team accountable for a dozen, geographically dispersed communities managing assets worth millions – Pathway turned to Windmill Software’s TheWorxHub suite of operations applications designed specifically for senior living.
“We realized we were far too reliant on what was in the heads of site managers and maintenance technicians,” said Michael Vick, Chief Financial Officer at Pathway. “We weren’t fully confident that wise repair-or-replace decisions were being made, nor that everything possible was being done to prolong the useful life of an asset. And we certainly didn’t have the tools at the corporate level to quickly view when and how replacement costs were impacting our capital budgets.”
Just over six months into TheWorxHub implementation, the new, centralized web-based system is saving Pathway significant time and money. It gives corporate executives the ability to better track and manage site-level performance, including monitoring that all appropriate measures are being taken to ensure safety and keep the community’s living environment in excellent condition.
