Redondo Beach, CA (PRWEB) June 29, 2012
What do you get when you mix 17 of the finest South Bay businesses, a sunny Sunday in June and some fun seeking local residents? As it turned out, it was an afternoon of Fun, FREE and Fabulous at one local business. Studio Pulse, a boutique fitness studio in Redondo Beach, hosted this amazing event and the first ever Make (you) Over party was launched inviting locals to gather and enjoy a relaxing day while catching up on beauty routines, wellness and all things healthy.
Let’s face it, living near the beach makes everyone want to look and feel their best so a group of local businesses demonstrated the full capabilities of their products and services on the beautiful patio at Studio Pulse, transforming its space into a “mini spa” for the day. The studio usually packed with customers getting their cardio burn on Spinning(r) bikes, was the venue for this “summer kickoff”. The entire space was dedicated to getting ready for summer by looking good and feeling even better. The word of the day was “FREE,” from haircuts, styling & makeup to waxing, massage, wine tasting & food, there was something for everyone.
The Make (you) Over event was an example of the strength of local business when teaming up to create a dynamic experience for South Bay residents. It showed that local businesses, like European Wax Center, My Fit Foods and Uncorked are concerned with more than just making a dollar but actually care about the town they live in and want to engage the community. Studio Pulse knows the power of being connected and recently became a part of the new The Locals' Club, “Buy Local First” campaign started by Southbay Magazine. “Our first goal is to help people get fit but we also want people to have fun doing it. Being with friends, whether working out together or just hanging out, can really boost your mood, energy level and attitude. Becoming a part of these programs allows us to stay connected with the community and on the pulse of what people want,” says Elise Hartley of Studio Pulse.
“I came with a few friends to see what this was all about and was amazed to see all the participation. We had our hair styled, makeup done (Hush Hush, Manhattan Beach) and were ready to hit the town,” says Devesa Sarria. “This was actually a great way to introduce new and upcoming local hangouts in our neighborhood. It gave us a chance to test out places we didn’t know about while having fun and meeting new people; plus, who doesn’t like a party?” says Amber Caudle of Redondo Beach.
“We (Studio Pulse) were inspired to do something different to engage the community. We are more than just a Fitness Studio. We try to reach our customers on all levels,” says co-owner, Hedi Alavi. “When it comes to heath, beauty & fitness, taking steps to feel good from the inside & out brings confidence. Making positive choices that encourage a healthy lifestyle overall and upping the quality of daily life for our community in the Southbay is what we’re really after.”
Redondo Beach is a place where neighbors still introduce themselves and everyone around you makes you feel welcomed, whether you have been living here for years or are new to the area. These businesses are in favor of helping keep small beach towns cozy. These events help create intimate atmospheres and encourage the involvement of small family-owned businesses to keep the unique feel of this South Bay neighborhoods.
