The intellectual property law firm of Caesar, Rivise, Bernstein, Cohen and Pokotilow is pleased to announce that David M. Tener has been named the firm’s new managing partner effective immediately.
Mr. Tener succeeds Manny Pokotilow, who served as managing partner for 20 years, during which time the firm more than doubled in size and developed a thriving litigation practice representing multinational corporations in high stakes litigation on the national stage. Mr. Pokotilow remains with the firm and continues his full-time practice as a partner, litigator and counselor.
Since joining Caesar Rivise in 1997, Mr. Tener’s practice has been comprised of all aspects of intellectual property law, including analyzing, procuring, challenging and enforcing patents, trademarks and copyrights on behalf of individuals, small businesses, research institutions and multinational corporations. His patent practice encompasses a wide variety of technologies, particularly chemical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, medical device, mechanical and Internet technologies. Mr. Tener is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. A 1992 graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, Mr. Tener received his M.A. in Chemistry from Temple University and his B.A. in Chemistry from La Salle University. He is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
“It is a great honor to assume this role, following in the footsteps of my longtime partner and pillar of the intellectual property law community, Manny Pokotilow,” said Mr. Tener upon his appointment. “The outlook for our firm is very bright as we are well-positioned to really make a difference in our clients’ businesses to give them a competitive edge. We see our role as trusted IP advocates and advisors – to not just protect our clients’ intellectual property – but to really understand their businesses and help them thrive.”
With a proud heritage spanning over 85 years, Caesar Rivise, Bernstein, Cohen & Pokotilow is recognized as a leading intellectual property law firm. The firm has been called upon to obtain thousands of US and international patents and trademarks and to act as lead counsel in hundreds of trials and appeals throughout the United States.
