Crane Lake, MN (PRWEB) June 28, 2012
Sharing a traditional ‘Home Town’ style 4th of July Celebration with friends, neighbors, families and visitors is an experience that everyone should have at some time during their life. The Crane Lake area of Minnesota, just miles from the Canadian border, retains the true flavor of a uniquely American Home Town Celebration. This small community is filled with friendly folks who treat visitors like family, making everyone an honorary “local” for some great old fashioned fun!
This traditional 4th of July celebration kicks off with activities geared to entertain and delight all ages. Local businesses will be participating with special offers and fun activities beginning in the early afternoon.
Experience an authentic Minnesota Vacation with Crane Lake’s homegrown parade that will begin lining up at 6:30 p.m. in the Voyagaire parking lot. Guests are welcome to enter a float, dress up in a costume or just march with the parade, but don’t forget to register for the $100 prize that will be awarded to the best entry following the parade. Many prefer to just cheer the passing entries; parade visitors are encouraged to come early to select a great viewing site along Crane Lake’s Gold Coast!
The parade kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and there will be plenty of candy handed out along the route as the hilarious antics proceed down the street. Some guests say they have never seen anything quite like Crane Lake’s annual 4th of July parade, so don’t miss it! Visitors can bring a donation for the Orr Food Shelf, one of the floats will be filling a big box with items brought by the attendees. Every facet of the community will be involved. New visitors will surely make friends as they celebrate and mingle with the crowd.
The $100 award will be given out from the Voyagaire deck 20 minutes after the parade. The front lawn of the Voyagaire Lodge will be the hub of games and activities for the kids. They won’t want to miss the hula-hoops, tattoos and bean bag toss so be sure to stay close by.
There will be dining and drink specials all around town on Independence Day. For example, the new Crane Lake Bar & Grill will be featuring and outdoor BBQ beginning at 2:00 p.m. with drink specials all day and live music by the “Sweet Freedom.” Nelson’s Resort will be hosting their 13th annual “Blow Down BBQ Dinner”, a candlelight affair reminiscent of the night the power went out in the big BWCA storm on July 4, 1999, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
But that’s not all because as dark falls, the real FIREWORKS begin with a show that will rival most firework displays! It’s a magical experience to see the bursting displays reflected in the crystal waters of the lake. Many might find it a romantic evening or an exhilarating one, locals and area visitors won’t want to miss the fun!
