Summit, New Jersey (PRWEB) June 29, 2012
What: "Giving Day"
When: 10 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2012
Where: Family Promise, 320 South 9th Street, Las Vegas, NV
Family Promise, a national nonprofit mobilizing communities to help homeless and low-income families with children, and Learning Express Toys, the nation’s leading educational toy retailer, are co-hosting a “Giving Day” at the Family Promise of Las Vegas Day Center. During the Saturday, June 30 event, more than 500 toys from the annual Learning Express convention will be distributed to local children in need.
Children from the Las Vegas Affiliate of Family Promise, as well as from Hope Link, another agency fighting homelessness, will be present to receive their toys. The event marks the beginning of a partnership between Family Promise and the toy retailer who share the “mutual promise” of bringing hope and joy to children in need.
“Giving Day is a wonderful opportunity for the families we serve in Nevada,” said Family Promise President Karen Olson. “These children have very few toys, books and games to call their own in their present situation and these will bring a smile to their faces during a difficult time. We’re so excited to kick off our partnership with Learning Express with such a meaningful initiative.”
“I can’t think of a more fitting cause for us to support than the plight of homeless children,” said Sharon DiMinico, Learning Express CEO. “We are thrilled to partner with Family Promise for this event and look forward to all that we can achieve together in the future.”
The event, beginning at 10 am, will feature the presentation of toys to the children. There will be ample opportunities for interviews, video, and photo ops, and the event will conclude with an ice cream party for attendees.
