Applications being accepted now; interviews to begin July 11.

Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, plans to hire approximately 90 full-time and part-time employees, plus seasonal workers, to staff its Union Gap Outpost Store scheduled to open this fall in Union Gap, Wash.

Applications must be submitted online. Anyone interested in applying should visit, click on “Apply Now,” then “United States Jobs.” Then follow instructions to log in; search for Job Number 3905BR and follow the application process. Interviews will begin July 11 and continue through July 14. Applying does not guarantee an interview.

Most employees are expected to come from Union Gap and the surrounding area.

“The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate for the outdoors and wants to share their knowledge with our loyal customers,” said Randy Longnecker, general manager of the new store. “We want people who live the Cabela’s lifestyle, work hard and cherish customer service.”

The Union Gap location is the first Cabela’s Outpost Store. Cabela’s Outposts are designed for efficiency and flexibility and will be built in markets of less than 250,000 people, offering the same quality products and legendary customer service for which Cabela’s is famous, but in underserved areas.

The 40,000-square-foot store will be Cabela’s third in the Evergreen State, joining the Lacey and Tulalip locations. It will be an anchor of Washington Plaza, a new shopping center located on East Washington Avenue adjacent to the Valley Mall, which is home to more than 55 specialty stores and merchants, including Kohl’s, Macy’s and Sears.

“It’s incredibly exciting to launch the first Cabela’s Outpost Store,” said Longnecker, who previously held management positions at Cabela’s Kansas City and Boise locations. “This is entirely new territory for Cabela’s. The Union Gap team will have the opportunity to debut an innovative concept.”

Cabela’s currently operates 37 retail locations across the United States and Canada and will open stores in Charleston, W.Va., and Rogers, Ark., this summer. Additionally, in 2013, the company has announced plans to open stores in Grandville, Mich.; Louisville, Ky.; Columbus, Ohio; Green Bay, Wis.; Thornton, Colo.; and Lone Tree, Colo.
